What is Preimplantation Genetic Screening or PGS and Do I need PGS?

Preimplantation Genetic Screening (PGS) or now better known as Preimplantation Genetic Testing for Aneuploidy (PGT-A) is a genetic study technique to identify abnormalities in embryos created through IVF before transferring them to the womb. The goal of doing PGS is to help you have a successful pregnancy, reduce pregnancy miscarriages and births with genetic defects due to abnormal chromosomes.

There are few types of Preimplantation Genetic Testing that can be performed alongside with IVF treatment, however, PGS is the most commonly used forms of preimplantation genetic testing. (more…)

Dato' Dr. Colin will be the keynote speaker at the European Gynaecology and Obstetrics Congress in France on 17-18 February. During this event he will speak about the findings that "EMBRYOS ARISING FROM APRONUCLEAR (0PN) AND UNIPRONUCLEAR (1PN) HAVE SIMILAR EUPLOIDY RATES WITH THOSE FROM 2PN AND SHOULD BE CONSIDERED FOR TRANSFER" What this finding means to patients is that even embryos that are usually considered low quality or unsuitable for transfer can successfully achieve pregnancy rates similar with stardard quality embryos via PGT-A. We are truly excited to share this findings with the world and hope to be able to further increase the pregnancy potential of our patients.

Alpha IVF & Women’s Specialists (KL) had a grand opening under the gracing of Her Majesty Seri Paduka Baginda The Raja Permaisuri Agong Tunku Hajah Azizah Aminah Maimunah Iskandariah Binti Almarhum Al-Mutawakkil Alallah Sultan Iskandar Al-Haj, here at Encorp Strand Mall – Kota Damansara, on the 8th November 2019. Recalling back when we had first started our journey from a 1,050 sq. ft. of space back in the year 1994, we had shifted to different places with some radical changes which had taken place as the years went by.
