World’s First Independent Blind Validation of AI-Powered Oocyte Spindle Analysis
Since December 2024, Alpha IVF & Women’s Specialists has proudly served as the R&D partner of ReSpindle (Gamow Tech) in advancing AI-driven fertility innovation.
Today, we are pleased to share the first independent blind validation results of ReSpindle AI — a significant milestone in the future of non-invasive embryo assessment.
Using polarized light microscopy, ReSpindle AI analysed 186 unique polarized light images from 23 oocytes, with predictions generated before the PGT-A results were revealed.
The study demonstrated:
- 71.2% accuracy between ReSpindle Score A/C and PGT-A ground truth
- 25% of oocytes classified as Score B, representing a grey zone with inconclusive spindle morphology
Although these are early findings based on a limited sample size, this marks the world’s first independent blind validation showing that an AI model analysing oocyte spindle morphology can meaningfully correlate with PGT-A outcomes in a real clinical setting — without disturbing or touching the embryo.
As the dataset continues to grow, ongoing research and refinement are expected to further improve predictive accuracy and clinical application.
ReSpindle is currently undergoing Medical Device certification and is expected to become commercially available for IVF clinics worldwide in the near future.
