Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) Leadership Team Visits Alpha IVF & Women’s Specialists Headquarters

Kota Damansara, Malaysia – Alpha IVF & Women’s Specialists was honoured to host a courtesy visit from the leadership team of the Malaysia Healthcare Travel Council (MHTC) at its headquarters in Kota Damansara.

The MHTC delegation was led by Mr. Suriaghandi Suppiah, Chief Executive Officer, and comprised Dr. Sharifa Shahreen Syed Sultan Ahmed, Vice President of Healthcare; Ms. Aida Zurina Idris, Vice President of Data Analytics & Strategy; Mr. Lokman Izam, Vice President of Marketing & Communications; Mr. Zairul Amri Abdul Aziz, Vice President of Human Resource Administration; and Ms. Aryani Maisarah from the Communications team.

The visit served as an important platform for both organisations to exchange updates, discuss potential areas of collaboration, and explore opportunities to further strengthen Malaysia’s position as a preferred destination for healthcare travel. Discussions focused on the evolving healthcare landscape, with particular interest shown in the field of fertility medicine and the advancements that continue to shape reproductive healthcare.

As part of the programme, the delegation was given a comprehensive tour of Alpha IVF & Women’s Specialists’ facilities, including its clinical centre and laboratories. The visit provided insights into the centre’s advanced technologies, innovative treatment approaches, and commitment to delivering high-quality patient care.

During the laboratory tour, Mr. Suriaghandi described the facility as the most fascinating part of the visit, noting that it is “where miracles happen.” He highlighted the combination of cutting-edge technology and highly skilled professionals that contribute to Alpha’s consistently strong clinical outcomes and success rates.

The visit also included a networking session with representatives from both organisations, fostering meaningful dialogue and strengthening professional ties. Centrifugation-Free sperm separation device surpasses conventional density – gradient centrifugation in ICSI cycles: higher blastulation, euploidy and lower mosaic rates

Background and Aims

Conventional sperm separation using centrifugation in ART faces criticism for potential sperm harm, leading to the development of alternatives like LensHooke® CA0 (Bonraybio, Taiwan) (Figure 1). CA0, a centrifugation-free device, selects self-propelling spermatozoa within a microenvironment created by a microporous filter membrane. Studies indicate CA0 improves sperm DNA fragmentation, motility, and normal morphology (Wang et al., 2023). This study compares laboratory outcomes between CA0 and conventional density-gradient centrifugation (DGC) in ICSI cycles.
